Company Overview

This client is a division of the New South Wales (NSW) Government who are responsible for financial management policy and reporting, on economic conditions and issues, and on industrial relations matters. They coordinate the State Budget, manage the State’s financial assets, monitor the performance of the State’s commercial agencies, implement industrial relations policy, and monitor and review policy, expenditure and budgets of NSW Government agencies.

Project Description

This NSW Government department is currently undergoing a transformation within its IT operations to raise its capabilities. This has included the introduction of a new operating model, implementation of ServiceNow to support its help desk as well as the standardization of project management across a number of divisions through the implementation of a common tool and processes. As part of its capability lift, this client is strengthening its Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery approaches by implementing a solution which resides outside the ServiceFirst network. The scope to establish the Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and management aligning to our clients requirements included three key focus areas, Prepare and Plan BCP, Activate BCM and Integrate DR Plans into the new platform.

Avec provided a technical consultant to design and implement the Project Portfolio Management module for the IT Project Managers:

  • Implementation of webpages to display information and allow for users to collaborate

  • Provided Operationalisation of the services

Project Outcomes

  • Delivered BC Disaster Recovery Templates projects for reuse in a BC Event
  • Delivered an Operational Manual for the users as a guide to using the developed tool
  • Treasury BC Facilitators using the tool as a way to communicate to the wider employee community
